Myria Konnari studied Graphic Design at Frederick University in Nicosia and at the University of West of England in Bristol. She completed her Master’s Degree in Media Arts and Communication Design at the Kent Institute of Art and Design and ever since, she has been active in graphic design and communication.
She has worked in the advertising industry as a designer, art director and member of the creative departments of major advertising companies in Cyprus. Since 2013 she has been freelancing from Pocket Studio in Nicosia, together with Graphic Designer Popi Pissouriou. She has designed visual identities for products, festivals, theatrical performances, conferences and independent publications.
Myria is a founding member and first president of the Cyprus Association of Graphic Designers and Illustrators, which was founded in 2016 by a dynamic group of designers, with the main goal of promoting the role of graphic design and illustration on a local level. She has been a jury member of the ADCE Awards in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, she was a member of the Graphic Design Jury for the Greek Graphic Design and Illustration Awards (EBGE).
In the 2023 EBGE awards she received a merit in the Environmental Graphics / Wayfinding category for the application of the 2nd Cyprus Poster Triennial. In 2022 she received a silver award for the identity of IVAC 2019, at the Carob awards.
Since 2019, she has fallen in love with typeface design. She has followed a series of online programmes (Practica, Alphabettes, Ilt Academy) in an ongoing process to teach herself typeface design. She is currently working on two typefaces, which she hopes to release soon.
